how to do the horizontal stitch! (with pictures)

E
not gonna copy and paste my entire post from kandipatterns since it relies a lot on images, and the images on this post just appear at the bottom ;w; so i'll just do the horizontal stitch bit! first, this is a bit of an advanced technique, and uses quite a bit of string, so i wouldn't recommend this unless you're skilled at the odd peyote stitch, as this uses a similar method. basically, you start out on the bead above/below the bead that half touches where you want to add on, half doesn't. this can be at the top or bottom. after tying off your string, you'll have it poke out of the half-touching bead and away from the base. put a bead on your string, then weave it back into the base bead you just came out of. weave the string down one bead, then through the bead you just added on. then you'll repeat, adding a bead, weaving through the base bead you just came out of, down one, then out and through the new bead. i have a picture below demonstrating this! to start a new column, you complete all the steps above, then, without adding a bead, weave it through the base bead you just came out of, UP one, then through the bead you just added. then you just continue like normal, adding your new bead, weaving through the base bead you just came out of, etc. to tie it off, you do the first step listed above, and tie it off to a piece of string attached to the base. hope this helped! :] -eve
