How to make Spikes for Spike Cuff using Brick Stitch

E
Making this post to share the instructions for making the spikes for my spiked collar cuff pattern. I find that with brick stitch, its better to use non-stretchy string, since it relies more on the string to place the beads & less on the beads around it like peyote. Once you get to the row where it's only 3 beads around, then you can just add 1 bead for the tip & connect it to the 3 beads. I like to use a slightly larger bead, but the same size is fine. I added some pics of some of the spikes I've made using 3mm seed beads. The colorful ones I started with a ladder base of 20 beads, the white ones were half that, with 10. For both I decreased by 1 each row. You don't have to though, you could decrease every other row, it will make the incline more gradual & smooth, as well as taller, compared to every row, which would be shorter. If that makes any sense.
