KPv5 Phase 3 is Live! Here’s Everything New in Kandi Pad

**KPv5 Phase 3 finishes out the *Kandi Pad Version 5* update, one of our biggest updates yet!** Bringing a massive overhaul to the editor, powerful new creation tools, expanded color systems, and under-the-hood speed improvements. **Here is a detailed breakdown of everything new on Kandi Pad!** **Editor Upgrades & New Tools** --- * **Modernized Interface & Layout:** I've cleaned up the editor interface on both desktop and mobile, moving color palettes and utility panels out of static sidebars and into flexible, floating panels. * **Desktop Selection Tools:** You now have access to **Lasso**, **Marquee**, and **Wand** selection tools on desktop. Select specific sections of your pattern to move, flip, or modify them without affecting the rest of your design. * **Rebuilt Image-to-Pattern Converter:** The conversion tool was rewritten from the ground up! It features new settings, built-in background removal, and significantly faster processing times, even for larger patterns. * **New Pegboard & Pattern Shapes:** Added Heart and Circle pegboard shapes for fuse bead designs, as well as a brand-new Star shape for pony bead patterns. * **Customizable Mirror Mode:** You can now set and customize X and Y axis lines for precise symmetrical designing. * **Beads Dimension for Rulers:** Added a dedicated "Beads" unit to rulers and guides for pony bead patterns, making measuring easier. * **Quick Color Shortcuts:** Seamlessly cycle through your recent color list using keyboard shortcuts (A keyboard shortcut reference list can be found in the editor *Help* menu) **Color Reference & Palette Enhancements** --- * **New & Updated Color Palettes:** Added **MARD**, **Hama Mini**, **Hama Maxi**, and **Artkal M** palettes and updated all existing color lists. * **More Robust Default Fuse Bead Palettes:** Renamed the fuse bead "Master Palette" to **KP Master** and added a new **KP Master Minis** palette for mini bead lovers. * **Default Pony Bead Palette Restructure:** Replaced the default pony bead palette with a brand-new **Kandi Pad** palette, prepping the way for brand-specific pony bead palettes. * **Reworked Palette Builder:** The custom palettes window has been redesigned to make building and saving your own color palettes more intuitive and hassle-free. * **Fuse Bead Color Reference Tool:** I built and launched a dedicated fuse bead brand color reference tool at [kandipad.com/fuse-bead-color-reference](https://kandipad.com/fuse-bead-color-reference). Search, compare, and match colors across all popular fuse bead brands in one place. **Discovery & Community Features** --- * **Smart Tagging System:** The pattern tagging system now automatically compiles and suggests related tags. Plus, I fixed an issue where tagging wasn't working properly on mobile devices. * **ETMA Content Rating System:** Patterns now utilize an ETMA content rating system aligned with our forum standards to help categorize content accurately. **Performance, Speed & Bug Fixes** --- * **Massive Code Optimization:** I restructured pattern storage and editor data handling to make the site substantially faster and lighter. This sets up a solid foundation for larger, custom pattern formats and new tools in future updates. * **Editor & Autosave Enhancements:** Streamlined data processing to reduce lag during long editing sessions and improve autosave reliability. --- ## What's Next: Tutorial Hub Revamp With this launch, the KPv5 update is officially complete! My next major focus will be a complete revamp of the Tutorial Hub. As part of the tutorials update, I will also be integrating tutorials directly into user profiles. This means you'll be able to easily showcase your own guides and quickly find helpful tutorials created by your favorite users right on their pages.
