when your ela class makes you write a banger story

(the prompt:)To get home before the storm hits, you take a shortcut through Lafitte Cemetery... even though you've heard the stories... We've all heard the stories. "Don't walk through Lafitte Cemetery at night" they said. "It's dangerous and scary" they said. But of course, I didn't listen. It was late, and I had to get home before the storm. Oh, I thought, I'll take a shortcut through Cemetery. can't be THAT scary, right? Oh boy, was I wrong. The second I stepped through the gate, something felt... off. the fog was too thick. It seemed a lot darker than it was outside the cemetery. The wind whistled through the trees, sounding like ghosts haunting away. I pushed down my uneasiness. I was being a baby. As I hurried through the cemetery, I caught a glimpse of something sitting on a gravestone. A young girl, wearing a floral church dress and a flower crown made of nightshade. And she was translucent. A ghost. I jumped out of my skin. "H-hello?" I said, like an idiot. The girl giggled and disappeared. So the stories were true. The cemetery was haunted. Scared, I made a run for it... straight into a tree. That wasn't there before! I took a step back. The tree had... A face! a horrible, hrrified, twisted face. This was all too much. Suddenly, something grabbed my ankle. Slowly, I looked down. the ghost girl from before had taken hold of my ankle. I screamed, but too many ghostly hands covered my mouth, choking off the sound. I felt a tug on my ankle and fell forward onto my face. slowly, i was dragged backward. I kicked and fought, but it was all in vain. Iooked behind me. I was being dragged towards an empty, open grave with a blank headstone. and then i fell in and all went black. The little ghost girl giggled as she danced around the silly human's new grave. Rain fell all around her as thunder boomed overhead. waving her hand over the empty headstone, she cause words to appear, letter by letter: Here lies Mariana Lowsly *"She just wasn't fast enough"* the little ghost girl giggled again as she placed her nightshade flower crown on the human's grave. The little girl would have a new friend soon.
