Even though everything was going smoothly, until that exact moment things changed, the room went quiet. I noticed the huge weight on my shoulders. My head was spinning, tears coming down my face as the thought hit me that I was just not good enough for anyone. For a long time, I tried to carry that feeling by myself, pretending I had everything under control and wearing a mask so nobody would notice I was drowning. But that only made things worse. It took breaking down, crying, and overthinking that day for me to realize I couldn't keep going on like this. I wasn't ready to talk to anyone about what I was going through yet. Opening up to someone else felt terrifying, and the emotions were still too raw and too much to take in. So, I pulled out my headphones, pressed play, and closed my eyes. As I let the music become my comfort spot, I shut out the rest of the world and focused on what was actually going on inside my head. At first, I realized that keeping my pain locked up inside didn't make me strong—it only made me feel completely alone, weak, and sad. I used to think being strong meant holding everything together and keeping the pain hidden so no one would see. But sitting there in that dark, quiet room, with the music acting as a shield between me and my fears, I finally stopped running from my own thoughts. In that stillness, a deeper truth settled in. I realized that breaking down didn't mean I was weak or broken; it just meant I had been carrying a weight meant for more than one person for way too long. I didn't need to fix my entire life right then, and I didn't need to prove my worth to anyone else. I just needed to start being gentle with myself, the exact same way I would be with a friend who was hurting. I learned that my worth doesn't disappear just because I'm having a hard time. Sometimes, the bravest thing you can do isn't fighting or pretending to be tough—it's just you need to sometimes be alone, letting yourself feel, and choosing to keep going.
