Is anyone kinda embarrassed to show their knowledge/intelligence? I don't mean this in a pretentious way, I'm being so fr rn this GENUINELY isn't bragging But this is more so when I speak to my parents, my usually dumb down my words first of all I do this not in a mean way but bc they don't understand complicated words and sometimes it isn't even complex words, for instance my mom didn't know what "wisdom" means, but she does know enough English to understand basic stuff so I do make my words simpler.. but even with adults maybe like this year, in English, when we were writing some basic ahh paper "all about me" it asked abt my fav books so I lied instead of saying notes from underground by Dostoevsky, bc that book is really advanced for my age. I didn't mention my philosophical interests either cause I feel so weird liking at as a teen Even when I was younger I would also try to not reveal everything abt myself 🤔 Btw this isn't a vent at all
