NOTE: I’m not done yet, I still have more writing. I am not telling y’all what this is about yet. The word of a seawing Tangerine woke up with a pain with his chest, his light orange with speckles of dark orange scales glimmered as the fresh morning sunlight loomed over. He stepped off his balcony high in the trees , he glided over to the very base of the tree, where his parents were expecting him. His mother, a glamours pink rainwing looked at him, and approached him. His father, an orange skywing followed. Tangerine winced. This was odd. “Tangerine” his mother said, “your father and I made a decision to enroll you to Jade Mountain Academy.” “You will go first thing in the morning tomorrow.” His father said. “Will I still see you?” Tangerine asked, the pain in his chest deepening. “Uh… I don’t… well…” his father stammered. His mother interjected, “ we will be visiting you, but I’m afraid this is possibly a boarding school situation.” “Oh” he said sadly. “What about lemon?” He looked at his yellow scaled little brother. “He is too young, but once he turns 3 moons, he will attend with you” his father said. Tangerine’s father continued, “Since the seawings aren’t happy with us settling on our land, we have to send you somewhere else, there aren’t any other options.” It was true. Since his father had been exiled out of the skywing kingdom, there was no other option. The rainforest was an unsafe place, so it would be here or at Jade mountain. “Ok, I understand. But what is gonna happen to you guys?” Tangerine asked with concern. “ There are some mountains we can temporarily settle near jade mountain, we will be close, but we can’t visit to much.” His mother replied with a hint of sadness and dread. “When are we due to leave then?”Lemon asked randomly. “Queen Coral is going to drive us out in about a week.” His father answered blankly. I hope Coral didn’t really think we were stealing her territory. Tangerine thought with dread. Coral didn’t realize their pain, this chance was a once in a lifetime opportunity to start over. “I’m ready,”Tangerine said. This is our opportunity to start over, for a better future. We will be safe. <> His heart leaped as he saw the tall mountain peaks of Jade moutain academy. His family had said their goodbyes and headed off to a nearby cliff. Oh god, what do I do? His talons were shaking. Just go in, it’s ok. He was greeted by a big blue seawing. He looked up at her with mistrust. Seawings, they aren’t what they seem; they don’t care about anybody but themselves. He gave a small hiss to the seawing. The seawing looked down at him sternly, “I’m your headmaster, Tsunami. I don’t think you should hiss at your one of your heros , young dragon.” Like you ever did anything! You may have helped with the war or whatever but seawings are terrible creatures, a disgrace to dragonkind and- He stopped his line of thought, a nightwing with shining greenish scales stared at him. Oh crap, I forgot that some night wings can read minds. He turned to Tsunami, “sorry” he said in a remorseful tone. Tsunami looked at him with a stern expression. “I know why you came here, my mother drives dragons insane. I’m very sorry what you’re going through.” She said. “BUT,” she continued, “that gives no excuse for your behavior. Dragons should feel safe while being here.” “except for that fire hazard walking around.” She muttered loud enough so that Tangerine could almost hear. Wait what? He thought to himself but didn’t dare to ask. “Yes, I’m sorry.” He said and then walked away. He looked back at the direction the nightwing was, but she was nowhere to be found.
