To celebrate here’s some weird birthday traditions where I’m from in the uk… 1.On someone’s 100th birthday they get a letter from the current monarch, if u live in the uk and have a state pension they will automatically get a card sent to them. 2.This weird version of happy birthday we made up to torture each other on our special day “Happy birthday to u, squashed tomatoes and stew, bread and butter in the gutter, happy birthday to you” 3.An even WORSE song “Happy birthday to u, stick your head in the loo (British slang for toilet) if you taste it don’t waste it, happy birthday to you” there’s actually even more songs idk why theyre all pretty bad lol 4.If u don’t send someone a birthday card that’s like one of the most terrible things u can do to them lol Most of these are more British but many of them are done all over the uk and I’m not exactly proud to be British rn so I prefer to say uk. Edit:The monarch also sends a birthday card on someone’s 105th birthday and every following year from their 105th as well
