I dislike it when people assume they’re better than tiktok and instagram users because they use youtube and/or pinterest. “They’re less brainrotted and more friendly!” Those apps still use the same short-form content layout that reduces thinking and makes people more agressive, and besides, there’s no such thing as a ‘non brainrotted’ or ‘non toxic’ social media platform. All of them have to at least have some sort of conflict in them to keep them balanced (i'm not trying to justify anything bad though, but it's the ugly truth). And while long form videos can be better than short form videos you’re still being exposed to a screen and not making connections as much as physical media
