I just watched diary of a wimpy kid movie omg (I read the book a few days ago)

I read the book a few days ago online, it took me like an hour to read but holyyy I sympathize with Greg a lot, like if you read the book and watch the movie he's lwk a bad person. "Greg is a bad friend/person!" "Greg is a bully!" Greg is a sociopath" are things I hear a lot of ppl say abt him and lwk might be kinda true but what was crazy for me was that these things that Greg did that caused lots of people to say he was like a really bad guy are just... low key average things I would do in my daily life 💔 For instance, Greg terrorizes or basically messes around with a group of kindergarteners and someone catches him but thinks that it was his friend Rowley that was misbehaving, so rowley gets in trouble instead of Greg, and rowley doesn't know it was cause of Greg's fault (at first, Greg later tells rowley tho). And Greg at first decides not to tell him and thinks the right thing is to let him take one for the team so Greg doesn't get caught. A lot of ppl state this is a reason why he's a bad person but idk I feel like ts is smth I'd do 💔 I feel like I tend to sympathize with characters who actually are flawed bc I'm flawed myself gng 😂✌️ I think Greg is somewhat of a bad person sometimes but to call him a sociopath is lowkey crazy for ppl to say. Cause these are just average things a misbehaving kid would do, idk I don't think he's a "sociopath". Another thing is Greg's obsession with being popular at school which I totally get, it is important to be somewhat popular. For me personally I'm not popular at all, I'm just normal at my school, but my main focus is on my looks. So just like how Greg seems to be obsessed with popularity I am lwk obsessed with making myself look good, anyway this was just something I could relate to, being obsessed abt something others may think it's not important (cause in the book/movie, a lot of ppl say it's best to be yourself rather than being popular). And I relate to ts bc ppl do tell me looks are unimportant, which I do find false. Anyway I loved the book and movie I should read the entire series tbh it seems rlly fun, like vro who knew a simple kids book could be this deep tbh. But anyway I felt as if I were Greg in the movie, seeing rowley get popular instead of Greg genuinely hurt me lwk. And the scene where rowley calls Greg a bad friend after discovering he was the one who actually misbehaved and rowley got the blame for it omgggg 😔✌️ I legi almost cried. omf and the scene after Rodrick finds the mother and son dance flyer. Greg's exact quote: "this entire year has been terrible and no one even cares about it. My family, my best friend, well I'm sick of it" gng why is ts so relatable 😂 anyway that's all I loved this movie sm if u haven't seen it pls watch it and read the book too
