Im learning sign language!

E
ive started to learn sign language! me and @Bluebead122 (my irl friend) have been learning it so we can talk in class without anyone knowing. im in alot of classes with her but i dont sit next to her in any of them! but if i become fluent in sign language then we can talk with nobody being able to listen in! plus if i ever meet any deaf people i can talk to them! i dont know much yet but here are some facts about the language! 1) there are multiple different sign languages! in america they use asl but in britain they use bsl and all the other countries have their own sign language. Every sign language is VERY different! im trying to learn bsl! :D 2) BSL IS NOT ENGLISH!!!!!!!! when translating a sentence from english to any sign language it becomes vastly different. for example, in english you would say ''what is your name?'' but in bsl it becomes ''YOU NAME WHAT?''. alot of words that are in english are missing in bsl. also, in bsl you put the ''most important'' bits first so that its easier to understand! 3) your face matters! in english we say words in different tones to get different meanings across! for example, if you were to shout ''HEY!'' at the top of your lungs it tells people that you are very mad but if you were to say it in a more playful tone (''hey!'') then it sounds like you are just saying hello to a friend. in sign language you cant use your voice (thats sorta the whole point) so instead you use you face to get emotion across. in bsl you tend to use your face to show emotion while in asl you use more of your body! yeah so thats some cool stuff about bsl! im still learning new signs and im no were near being fluent LOL but im trying my best!
