Internet saftey :v

So, this is kind of gonna be like both a rant & a reminder to just stay safe on the internet, you know? Cuz this is something that I REALLY want to talk about it, & I think its important that it does get talked about, especially on such a niche site that kinda has a lot of younger people/minors on here. It concerns me a lot to see people online sharing their personal information, like their age, city, or name. If its someone you trust that's fine, but you should still definitely be careful at all times. But, it really concerns me to see younger individuals casually sharing their name or age or just really any personal information out there because you really don't know who it is behind the screen (Unless you know them IRL, but again that's different) that is seeing this information. This isn't me trying to say "Oh every person on the internet that you don't know is a creep & you HAVE to stay away from them" because that's clearly not true, its more or less like "The possibility of a person with malicious intent seeing your information & using it to their advantage to harm you is never zero". A lot of people don't realize that there are creeps out there that can & will use the personal information that you share abt yourself be used to hurt you & possibly other people. Now of course, this isn't to scare people from using the internet at all, but its just a reminder to not share any kind of personal information about yourself so openly online, where a lot of predatory behavior is present. Only share to those you know IRL or trust, & if anyone online makes you uncomfortable, remember that you have an option to block or report someone for their behavior. Or maybe try to talk things out, don't know if that would be in your options or not. Remember to stay safe out there & to protect yourself to the best of your ability! tl;dr: The internet can be a dangerous place & it concerns me that a lot of younger people cassually share their personal information, which could lead to someone dangerous harming them. So remember to not share anything personal to someone you don't know or trust & to stay safe online or offline.
