is anybody more educated on dogs than i am?

i was speaking to natalies cousin last night about our dog named tilly. shes a great dane. and shes very.. "lazy". her cousin explained its not actually laziness, its lack of mental stimulation. she gets bored, and she learns to sleep when she gets bored. meaning she sleeps all the time. i also told natalies step-father about getting a prong collar, but he didnt exactly listen to my arguments and just kept repeating himself. tilly does not walk around our neighborhood often, and she isnt leash-trained despite being around three years old. any idea how to convince him? im sure i would be able to teach her, i just need assistance with buying things because.. in the end, its their responsibility. kind of sucks i have to do all of this in the first place because her parents believe dogs are house decor rather than an animal. great dane akc standard for reference in the picture below. -🎱
