long vent bc history class got me thinking

my history teacher often yaps about his opinion of history (he says Christopher Columbus is the biggest moron ever) ok long vent here- tw: war, death, cussing I hate war. Nobody seems to fucking care about the lost lives, about the families of the deceased, or even about the cause for wars. It's all the stupidest shit and it makes me sad. And even when someone surrenders, or a treaty happens, or someone thinks they won and everyone just agrees, there are no winners. If there is death nobody wins. And nobody cares. Nobody cares except me and the families of those who have died, and there really should be more ppl who care. War is just the shittiest concept ever, nobody even tries to get to the root of the problem they're just like "Nope, I hate you, I'm gonna fight you." And nobody cares about those who die, or are wounded, or whose lives are irreparably damaged by the horrors they've seen. They only care about win or lose. But there are no winners, only losers. Yet we fight and fight and fight and for what? to prove a point? to get our way? to say "I told you so and you didn't listen"?
