[vent/rant] Wow I got 100 on my health lesson

E
I didn't even go to the live class that day. It was about mental health. I'm happy I didn't go, because the people in my class would have said, “Why are we learning about this?” or “Why do we need to know this? Do you think I’m/I have __?” much like they did when we were talking about eating disorders. Yes, the teachers do turn off the chat when that happens. I went to read the lesson for my class, and it said there’s a big stigma against certain groups of people with mental health issues: people of color, people who have tried and lived, people who have tried and didn’t make it, people who have scars or cuts. I know it’s important to have conversations with people in middle schools and high schools, because it’s more likely to happen during those years. I remember the 988 talk we had last year at my old school. I remember this exactly: there was a boy who dared his friend to call 988 at school, and another boy said, “Wait, the school is going to know you as mental. You should definitely not do that.” Then he looked at me and said, “I don’t want to be known as the person who’s friends with someone who’s mental.” Middle School boys are so dumb [me as a 8th gread trans boy]
