Why is Hajime and Nagito NOT cannon?

When Nagito had the lying disease, he said, "Go away, I don't wanna see you here" to Hajime (REMINDER he had the lying disease) ALSO, in Zettai Kibou Birthday, Nagito spoke abt what he admires and HOPE, which is widely considered to be about Hajjime. When Nagito was tied up, instead of Mahiro, he wanted a BOY*Hajime* to feed him.... AND in the English dub, Nagito said "Bottom of my heart. I love the hope that swims in your *Forgot what he said for this part*" But in the Japanese dub, he outright states his love for Hajime. And yet, Hajime and Chiaki are canon just because there are clips with them. I mean, I ship it.... BUT WHY IS NAGITO NOT CANNON?
