Cigarette (fic) (Cardeo x Eddie (@noahdoesstuff's oc))

I lit your cigarette And I’m glad that I'm not in bed tonight Why can't I get you out of my mind? Cardeo's cheeks numbed as he walked beside Eddie. This Slenderman business started, what, 4 years ago now? Maybe 5. Cardeo couldn't think with how cold it was. All he could think about was how Eddie had been there with him…pretty much this whole time. Though the circumstances of their meeting were less than optimal, he was still happy to have someone like Eddie with him. Even if this meant burying almost every ounce of feeling he had for him just so he’d stay his friend. Well, it was worth it, staying up late making music when they should've been investigating whatever was happening and falling asleep practically on top of each other after actually investigating. It'd be better if they actually could talk about it and not have to dodge the romantic tension that constantly lingered between them. As the two were crossing the bridge that led to Cardeo’s street, Eddie suddenly stopped at the top, took a cigarette box from his pocket, opened it, and grabbed one. He felt his pockets and sighed. “Forgot my stupid lighter at your place. You got one?” Cardeo thought for a second, reaching into his pockets before pulling out a matchbook. “Nah, but I've got a match.” He smiled lightly, pulling one out and striking it on the side of the matchbook. Eddie leaned forward a bit, so Cardeo could light it more easily. He held the flame to the end of the cigarette, watching it intently as small embers began to form. He then took the match away, shaking it to put the flame out before letting himself drop it. Eddie inhaled deeply, slowly breathing out as he muttered a thanks. The two simply stood there, remaining the same distance that they were when the cigarette was lit. Cardeo couldn't help but stare at Eddie as he looked over the bridge. It seemed Eddie felt Cardeo's eyes on him, because he looked over to him suddenly. “Ya need somethin…?” Cardeo's cheeks flushed slightly, making his otherwise freezing body slightly warm. “Oh uh no, no..sorry.” Eddie smirked. “Yeah, ok.” He quipped as he started down the bridge. Cardeo grimaced slightly before shaking his head and following him. Eddie obviously has caught on. Cardeo could only guess how Eddie felt about it. Am I broken? Am I stupid? Am I boring or too impulsive? Is my humor too specific? Do you think that I’m obnoxious now? Cigarette - Cricket!
