So like imagine being some dude, who's like a really good guitar player And it's the 80s , so you're in a hair metal band Then hair metal dies out so you switch gears and join a different band called marvelous 3, but that doesn't really do that well either (good band, good music. They got semi popular I think. Just had a reunion tour this year AND I COULDNT GOOO) So then you go solo and write, sing and produce a pop punk (?) album in 2002 . But that isn't super successful either, so switch gears again : produce albums for bands like fall out boy, all American rejects , p!nk and eventually green day All the while still doing different side projects and solo stuff, once again switching genres to singer-songwriter genre and then touring with train as their guitar player????????? Like imagine having that lore?? Anyways, this legend is butch walker. I'm listening to his aforementioned pop-punk(?) solo album left of self centered rn . My dad introduced me to his music because he liked butch walker when he was the guitar player of the band southgang in the 80s, so when he put out the solo album my dad bought that and was like "with is this trash" and then like a year ago he was showing me random bands he thought I'd like and boom, my brain decided butch walker was fascinating and I needed everything he has put out (including albums he's produced) so anyhow, yeah
