Dino facts! :D 🦖

E
I thought I would share some dino facts I know with y'all! Enjoy! 💫 1. There's a dinosaur that has a wingspan roughly the size of a tennis court (about 33-35 feet) and as tall as a fully grown giraffe. (It's called a Quetzalcoatlus) 2. Human teeth and the teeth of small vertebrates evolved from the scales of prehistoric fish. 3. Pterodactylus is only about 12 inches long. The ones you see in Jurassic Park are more accurate to the Pteranodon (they had a roughly 23-30 feet wingspan). 4. The Mosasaurus (which was about 50 ft in its prime), evolved from small land living lizards that went into water to search for food. 5. The big jaws of the T-Rex gave it the most powerful bite of any animal in history. 6. The Iguanodon was the second dinosaur to ever be named. 7. A complete Heterodontosaurus skeleton was found in 1976 with EVERY BONE IN PLACE. (I wish I could explain to you all how extremely rare that is) 8. There was a Triceratops skull found with one of its brow horns snapped, suggesting it got into a fight with a T-Rex. (They found that out because of teeth marks left behind) 9. The Brachiosaurus weight nearly 12 times more than a modern day African elephant (33-55 tons), could reach heights up to 50 feet tall, and was about 75 feet long. 10. Allosauruses were said to live and hunt in packs. 11. The velociraptors you see in Jurassic Park weren't really velociraptors at all, they were based on a larger and close relative, called the Utahraptor. (real velociraptors were roughly the size of a turkey and had feathers) 12. Dinosaur actually means "terrible lizard"
