This is a beginner-friendly tutorial on how to make a mini star, by n0t_nyx. This tutorial is quick, easy, and doesn’t take much supplies.
Step 1
Get your beads You can use any color you want, but if it’s your first time making one, I would choose two colors, five of each. You also need about 3 inches of string (I didn’t measure) and some scissors. You may need more string than this depending on your dexterity *see step 7 before beginning this tutorial*.
Step 2
Take your string and place five of any color beads on it. For me, it’s yellow.
Step 3
Next, tie off your beads (I tie 2-3 times). Cut the smaller string. Side note: if your star doesn’t look like this right now, don’t worry! It will shape up as we go on.
Step 4
Then, you’re gonna want to pull your string through the next bead IN THE DIRECTION OF THE STRING. This hides the knot.
Step 5
Next, take one of your other colored beads (if you’re doing the tutorial by my example) and string it through the next bead.
Step 6
Repeat the process for the other four beads.
Step 7
Tie off your star around 3 times. This will make it sturdy and secure, if you followed the tutorial. *Tying the string may be difficult for you if you are not dexterous. Use more string if this is true.*
Step 8
Lastly, cut the end of your string. This completes your mini kandi star!
Congratulations! You’ve made your first mini kandi star! Now you can mass-produce them because they’re quick, easy, and fun!
