I accidentally made this little turtle and now I will show you how to as well.
Step 1
String 8 beads onto about 1 foot of string and tie it off as shown.
Step 2
Arrange the beads into a square shape as shown above.
Step 3
String 3 beads onto the longer end of the string and thread it through the corner of the square.
Step 4
Repeat x3 as if you are making a regular kandi square.
Step 5
Thread the string through the next corner bead.
Step 6
Add 2 beads on the string and thread it through the next corner bead.
Step 7
Repeat 3 more times and pull the string tight, and now it will take the shape of a turtle shell.
Step 8
Pull the string through until it’s next to an empty corner.
Step 9
Add one bead (different color) and pull through to the next empty spot.
Step 10
Repeat x3 the whole way around.
Step 11
Tie it off and cut the excess off.
Step 12
Use that excess string and thread it in between 2 beads on the shell.
Step 13
Add a bead on both ends of the string like shown.
Step 14
Add another on one end and put the other end of the string through like a ladder stitch and tie it off. (You can also draw on eyes with a sharpie like I did)
