A tutorial requested by marcotte! This tutorial utilizes the even peyote stitch and the horizontal stitch, both of which are explained in the tutorial.

Step 1

This shows the order we will be doing things in. The first step is the start of the peyote stitch, step two is the bottom, step three is the top, and step four is the horizontal stitch.

Step 2

The first step is the start of the peyote stitch. The peyote stitch is started by folding your string in half, and putting one bead on each side. Then, put both sides through one bead, then one bead on each side. Continue in an "A-B-A-B" pattern until you reach the end. Here, we end on both ends of the string coming through one bead. Feel free to tie it off once or twice to hold it in place.

Step 3

For step two, we do the bottom. Take your bottom string and bring it down, adding a bead, then weaving it through the left-most bottom bead, as shown in the picture. Take another bead, and weave the string through it, then through the right-most bottom bead. Tie it to the peyote base by putting your string under the string on the base, pulling halfway, then pulling your string through the loop you make and pulling tight. Do this a couple or so times to be secure, then cut off.

Step 4

The third step is the top portion. Take your top string and add a bead to it, then weave it through the left-most top bead, as shown in the image. Bring the string up, add another bead, then weave your string through the bead that's poking out; this should be the first bead you added to the top. Then, do it again, adding a bead and then weaving it through the second bead you added. Don't tie it off just yet.

Step 5

The final step is the hardest bit, the horizontal stitch. Loop your string out of the bead you just weaved it into, then back into the top-most bead and out the other side. Add a bead, then once again pull it through the top-most bead. Then, loop it down to the bead directly below the bead you came out of, and into the bead you just added. Add another bead, and repeat, weaving the string into the second-highest bead on the left, as seen in the image, down one, and back into the bead you just added. Without adding a bead, bring the string down to the peyote base, and tie it off just like we did in step two.

That's it, you should now have a little MLP charm. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know! :]
