What Does a Pattern Quality Controller Do?

As a Kandi Pad PQC, you'll be an essential part of the creative process. You'll be shown user-submitted projects, one at a time, and asked to rate them on a simple scale of 0 to 3. Your ratings, combined with those of other PQCs, will determine which projects are displayed in the public gallery.

The more you moderate, the more you'll improve your PQC Score, which tracks both the quantity and accuracy of your ratings.

PQC Profile Tag: Let everyone know you're a trusted member of the Kandi Pad team with a special tag on your profile.

Kandi Pad Pattern Quality Controller (PQC) Terms of Service

Welcome to the Kandi Pad Pattern Quality Controller program! By participating, you agree to the following terms, which form a legal agreement between you and Kandi Pad.

1. Nature of the Relationship

You acknowledge and agree that your role as a Kandi Pad PQC is strictly voluntary and uncompensated. You are not an employee, independent contractor, or agent of Kandi Pad. Your actions are taken on behalf of the Kandi Pad community, and not as a legal representative of Kandi Pad. This program is for the benefit of the community and your participation is a hobby, not a job.

2. No Expectation of Compensation or Employment

You agree that you will not receive any wages, salary, or other financial compensation for your work as a PQC. All perks offered by the program are considered non-monetary rewards for your voluntary participation and are not to be construed as payment. You have no expectation of, and will not seek, employment or a contract with Kandi Pad based on your participation in this program.

3. PQC Responsibilities

You will perform your duties in good faith and in accordance with the Kandi Pad PQC Community Guidelines. You will be fair and consistent in your ratings and will not use your position to target or harass other users.

4. Intellectual Property & Content Liability

You are not a legal expert on copyright law. If you suspect an image infringes on a copyright, you must use the designated flagging tool to report it. You must not make any legal determination or declaration regarding copyright infringement on behalf of Kandi Pad. Kandi Pad has an official DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) process for handling such claims, which is separate from and takes precedence over PQC ratings. By adhering to this process, you help protect both Kandi Pad and yourself from legal exposure.

5. Limitation of Liability

You agree that Kandi Pad is not liable for any harm or damages arising from your actions or inactions as a PQC. You will indemnify and hold Kandi Pad harmless from any claims or disputes that may arise from your pattern moderation activities.

6. Termination

Pattern Quality Control on Kandi Pad should be treated as a fun extension of your website experience and is meant to help the community as a whole. That being said, Kandi Pad reserves the right to suspend or terminate your PQC status at any time, for any reason, with or without notice.

Kandi Pad Pattern Quality Controller (PQC) Community Guidelines

These guidelines are designed to help you make consistent, fair, and effective pattern moderation decisions.

1. Core Principles

Be a good community member: Treat all users with respect, even when moderating their content.
Act in good faith: Your primary goal is to help the community, not to abuse your power.
Promote a safe and creative environment: Your ratings are critical to ensuring the public gallery is appropriate for all users.

2. The Kandi Pad Rating System

Your role is to rate patterns on a scale of 0 to 3 based on their quality, and their quality alone, regardless of content. The scores you provide will be averaged with other PQC's scores to help determine a pattern's final rating.

Ratings are not public-facing. Final ratings are used only by the Kandi Pad system for processing and handling patterns throughout the website.

Rating 0: Poor/Spam. This rating is for patterns that are blank, obvious spam, very poorly made, or consist of random scribbles.
Rating 1: Fair. This rating is for patterns that are incomplete but show potential. It can also be used for patterns that are technically complete but lack polish, have "muddy" colors/edges, or are obviously unedited image conversions.
Rating 2: Good. Rate a pattern as "Good" if it's solid and well-made with a clear motif or subject. This includes image conversions that have been visibly cleaned up or fine-tuned.
Rating 3: Great! This rating is for exceptional patterns that are well-polished, have a clear motif, and are appropriately titled. A pattern may be considered for a lower rating if the title is poor or random.

3. Handling Specific Content Issues

People and Portraits: If a pattern contains an image or portrait of a relative, friend, or otherwise personal acquaintance who is NOT a celebrity or fictional character, do not rate it. Instead, use the flagging system to report the pattern due to privacy concerns. These kinds of patterns are welcome on Kandi Pad, but still need to be flagged appropriately, and will be handled by Kandi Pad Admin.
Inappropriate Content: If you suspect a pattern contains inappropriate content, do not rate it. Instead, use the flagging system to report the potential issue. While some "NSFW" content is allowed on Kandi Pad it needs to be flagged appropriately, and will be done so by Kandi Pad Admin.
Conflicts of Interest: You must never rate your own patterns or show favor/bias towards the patterns of friends or family. If you see a pattern by someone you know, either skip it or rate it without bias.

4. PQC Conduct

At a certain point, your profile may display a special PQC tag. As a representative of the Kandi Pad Pattern Quality Controller team, you must uphold a high standard of conduct in all public and private interactions on the site. This includes keeping your own drama, negativity, and otherwise inappropriate behavior out of the forum.

You should not engage in public discussion or arguments with users about your pattern moderation decisions. Instead, refer them to the Kandi Pad Admin and Support topic in the Forum.

In short, just be nice. Simple as that.

5. User Appeals

Although pattern ratings are not public, users have the right to question moderation methods and decisions. If a user reaches out to you to question or dispute ratings, you must respectfully direct them to the Kandi Pad Admin and Support topic in the Forum. Do not engage in debate with them.
