I'm making a cuff for a cosplay--- any tips on how to make it?

I got into pjd around christmas time and almost IMMEDIATELY fell in love with the "Factory Tyrant" Miku variant. She goes with the song "Sadistic Music Factory" by CosMo@Bosou-P (my fav vocaloid artist). She's got these floating gear things on her wrists and ankles and when i first decided to cosplay her, I immediately decided that I would make them with beads. I tried to make a pattern for it on a minor scale, but ended up giving up because I was stumped on how to make he chunks on the gears. (idk how to explain it.) Which leads me to my main question--- does anyone have any ideas on how I could possible make them? I've been thinking about making cubes and attaching them to a cuff, but I don't think that would work out very well. I could also just make them out of cardboard, but I think that would end up looking weird and uncomfortable. they don't have to float like the actual pattern, but if I'm bored I might try and see if I can make them float. Kandi pad is full of really creative people, so I really hope you guys can help me out. (The photo I attached is of Factory Tyrant Miku AKA the Miku variant im referring to throughout the entire post lol)
