ok, Final draft of my story

E
The last post was just giving you an idea of what the story was, now I'm actually going to share the story. Mark and Elizabeth's parents had to go for the weekend because of a family emergency, so they were dropped off at their grandmother's house. Elizabeth dropped her things and went running towards their grandmother. While Mark goes upstairs to put his stuff away, he happens to stumble upon a jar of gold coins. Mark walks into the room and sees their grandmother sitting in a chair beside a window. Gertrude tells Mark to tell him to come over and sit with her and Elizabeth by the window. Elizabeth, Mark, and Grandma Gertrude are sitting in a peaceful sunlit room. Gertrude began to tell them an ancient story about a farm and the many seasons of hard work they had gone through together. Elizabeth listened and was ready for Grandma to begin, but Mark, on the other hand, seemed to have his mind somewhere else entirely. Gertrude spoke highly of a Great Goddess named Demeter, who blessed their farm. She explained that Demeter was a caring figure, but she was also quite firm and quite often punished people who took her blessings for granted. To keep the blessings from Demeter, the family built a shrine and offered special gifts like gold and shiny stones. Throughout the story, Elizabeth kept asking more and more questions, eager to get to the end, but Mark looked bored and zoned out as if he didn’t even want to be there. Grandma Gertrude explained the importance of valuing what you have. That evening, they decided to work together to build a beautiful shrine decorated with stones and gold coins. Elizabeth was very happy to help, but Mark could not keep from looking at the gold. He was more focused on the coins than on the actual story or the work they were doing. Suddenly, the weather changed. A cold wind went over the farm, and dark clouds blocked the sun, making the day feel much colder. Gertrude warned them that a storm was coming and that Demeter was watching over them. Elizabeth felt nervous and sad for the farm, but Mark was just giving a unsettling smile, seeming unbothered by the warning. The next day, everything was very dull and gray. The plants were floppy and turning brown under the gray sky. Gertrude was very worried about why their good fortune had disappeared so quickly. She had no idea that Mark had quietly taken the gold coins during the night for himself. Because the gifts were gone, the farm's happiness faded and was replaced by a sense of sadness.
