Have you ever been making a peyote stitch charm, but didn't know how to make the charm wider? I find that making peyote stitch thicker or wider is hard to intuitively figure out, so I thought I'd make a tutorial on it! This tutorial will only teach you how to increase the thickness of a peyote stich by 2 rows(the ones circled orange in the cover image). You can't use this tutorial to increase by only 1 row. For that, you'd need something like brick stitch. This method works best if you just need to add a few more rows to a charm. If you need to add a lot more rows, it is probably easier to make the charm in two pieces and join them together. Step 1
Make sure your string is coming out where you want more rows!
Step 2
Add 3 more beads. The first bead will end up on the very next row while the other two beads will end 2 rows after.
Step 3
Thread the string through the first bead you added.
Step 4
Thread the string through the bead above or below the one you were first coming out of(in the picture, this is the clear bead below the blue bead I started from).
Step 5
Pull tight! You now have 2 extra rows to continue the peyotes stitch. In the very next row(the one with the green bead) you can see how there are gaps on either side where you can do continue to peyote stitch as usual.
Step 6
Here's the finished charm :) All I added after doing the increase was two clear beads on both sides of the green bead that was added.
