How to Make a Herringbone Cuff

This is for making a general herringbone cuff, 4 or more rows tall. This will all be in a step-by-step with diagrams only format (aside from my photo of another example of a completed herringbone cuff at the end). If you need to see it done step-by-step using photos, @nomnomnom has made one that matches pretty well here: https://kandipad.com/kandi-tutorials/herringbone-cuff-2500458 You will initially need a minimum of 80 beads (20 for each row), & it works best with fabric elastic string. Since the cuff should end up being very stretchy (similar to a regular ladder cuff), 20 columns would fit the average wrist, but if you want to make it more narrow or more wide, you'd need to decrease/increase in multiples of 4. So to go down one size, each row would have 16 beads, with the first row starting with 32, and to go up one size, each row would have 24 beads, the starting row with 48. 🚨UPDATE🚨: I have made a pony bead version of the guide pattern I used, which helped when making my first seed bead herringbone cuff. The last step (step 11) contains a pic of the guide pattern for making the cuff from this tutorial, as well as one for the finished cuff I show in step 10. Here's a link to the blank version of the herringbone guide pattern, for anyone that may want to use it: https://kandipad.com/pattern/herringbone-cuff-guide-pony-beads-2010-2182017 Link to the guide pattern for the tutorial: https://kandipad.com/pattern/herringbone-cuff-guide-tutorial-example-pony-beads-2010-6972039 Link to the step 10 finished example guide pattern: https://kandipad.com/pattern/herringbone-cuff-guide-example-pony-beads-2010-13652058

The top pic is the guide pattern that would go along with this tutorial. The bottom one would be what it would look like for the finished cuff I showed in step 10. I've linked the blank version of the guide as a pattern in the intro of this tutorial. Just like multistitch, you add the first 2 rows as a single string of 40 beads to begin with before adding row 3+, so both row 1 & 2 are on the bottom row on the guide pattern (which makes this look twice as long as it will end up being). Rows 3 & onward are spaced out to line up with the row 2 beads, & are grouped in pairs just as you would add them when making a herringbone cuff (2 beads at a time). I find the numbers helpful to keep track of what row is what, esp for telling which beads are for the 1st row & which are for the 2nd.

I tried to have the pics be as explanatory as I could, but if anyone is confused, has any questions, or spots a typo/error, you can comment them on this forum post, & I'll try to address them: https://kandipad.com/forum/advanced-techniques/how-to-make-a-herringbone-cuff-qa-54951520 (I also respond quicker in the KP discord) Here's the link to to the full pic with all 10 steps in original quality: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ahmYvjAa5l0HA7wdL66orw7wEp6TVG7A/view?usp=sharing
