⚠️DO NOT REPOST THIS TOOK HOURS⚠️Hi, I struggled making an xbase with this specific pattern so I thought this might help since I couldn’t find a tutorial.I would recommend reading ahead at least one step before doing each step. Also I will try and make this somewhat suitable for people who don’t know how to make xbase but it’s not ideal and ur cuff might not look the same if you don’t know xbase basics. There are other tutorials for those so I recommend if you don’t know about xbases then I recommend having a look at them first.Always pre stretch your elastic!!!! Ps:Sry if the tutorial isn’t very good it’s my first one and I struggle writing stuff.
Step 1
I’ll be using this pattern by @random_idiot but I’m using slightly different colours
Step 2
What I circled is the first row so thread that onto your string so basically 4 colour beads separated by the correct amount of black beads, mostly 5 black beads except at the ends (or whatever colours ur using)
Step 3
This is what it should look like
Step 4
Tie it to make a regular single that’s tight but still stretchy so there’s no gaps between the beads. Tie it off but only cut one side of the knot and leave a long string of about a wingspan, I would recommend maybe a wingspan and a half if you don’t wanna tie more on or u have small arms. U can superglue or add nail varnish the knot.Be careful if using nail varnish or particularly superglue and also make sure you are in a well ventilated room.
Step 5
You can thread to go into the bead 3rd away from the green, or you can do it the opposite way around but it MUST be the third bead away like shown in the picture and the string is coming out pointing the way you wanna thread on your beads. It basically works the same the other way around except u will just be going clockwise or anti-clockwise but I will be just referring now on the colours and direction I go.
Step 6
Thread it on like this with two green then one black
Step 7
Thread into the green bead. Tighten it decently and you can either pinch as you go along to keep tension or you can use a clothes peg.You can either peg/pinch after every section of the row or after a few sections.
Step 8
Do the same thing but this time purple orange purple ( I ended up messing up on the like 3rd time I had to redo this tutorial so I ended up using pink instead.)
Step 9
Green green black
Step 10
Black blue blue
Step 11
White pink white
Step 12
I’ll be showing you 3 at a time now you have the idea for this row.
Step 13
Blue blue black, black orange orange, green purple green
Step 14
Orange orange black, black pink pink, white blue white
Step 15
This one is pink pink black THEN go into the bead two away like normal but also go through the top of the peak of the peak you made at the start
Step 16
Like this
Step 17
This is row 1 completed next step is row 2
Step 18
Green green pink and it’s threaded into the orange bead
Step 19
Pink green green
Step 20
3 black into the blue bead
Step 21
I’m just gonna say the colours and show pictures now and do it 3 peaks at a time like before rather than saying go into a specific bead I’m sure u have the idea by now
Step 22
Blue blue white, white blue blue, black black black
Step 23
Orange orange green, green orange orange, black black black
Step 24
Pink pink white, white pink pink, black black black. Then go through up to where the picture shows
Step 25
I’m gonna be real I worked for like at least 10 minutes on the tutorial and my laggy iPad or the website basically deleted my progress after me having other issues making the tutorial as well as this one that were even worse than losing 10 minutes progress. So for this reason the last row is gonna just be a picture. It shows where you are supposed to thread it.I wouldn’t actually recommend threading this many at a time it’s just to show you.
Step 26
Go through like this and tie off.
As I said at the start this tutorial took hours to make(both because of glitches and mistakes and how in depth it is),if you repost it or something I will scream so DO NOT!!! If you have any questions about this tutorial please ask me on the forum and I will answer asap.
